    It's a Lite-On, they provide drives for a lot of PC vendors and such. Not a bad price, under $100, and it's worked great. I haven't run it through its paces with a DL disc yet, I'm still trying to figure out some things. For instance, with DVD Shrink, I have the latest version, but I can't get it to write faster than 4X, even when tweaking the settings. I have yet to try to burn with Nero, though...

      Maybe the media isn't 8X+?
      
      You might want to upgrade you firmware too.

        The media is 8X, but it's that bargain basement crap I got at Media Center, maybe I should should just friggin splurge!

            I thought I read somewhere that ideally you shouldn't burn DVDs at higher than 2x- or is that old info?
