I've noticed, of course, that there are brands of DVD players that play backed up dvds better than some. I use DVD Shrink and have yet to have a disc that didn't burn successfully, but my Apex DVD Player will stutter on some of them. My GE DVD player (Don't have a model #, sorry) plays everything smoothly. Anybody else have a player they'd recommend if somebody needs a good player to buy (or one to avoid?)

Re: About DVD Players...
Thu, December 2, 2004 - 7:55 AMI had the same problems you're experiencing with your Apex player with my Panasonic player, but when I went the Sony route, I haven't encountered any problems. The one I have is nothing special though, so if you want bells and whistles, it's probably not for you:

I will say this...I have two friends who have GoVideo players, and those pieces of junk flat out won't play DVD Shrink discs. But c'mon, it's friggin' GoVideo! :)

Re: About DVD Players...
Thu, December 2, 2004 - 8:11 PMI have a Panasonic 5-disc carousel and a Toshiba and I've never had a problem playing any DVD Shrink disc. Avoid RCA. I got a free one with my TV and it has issues with original discs sometimes.
